Strategic Counsel for Business Owners, Executives, Fiduciaries, and Investors
Led by Dale B. Cazes, BLG advises business owners, executives, fiduciaries, and investors on complex business, tax, and litigation matters, including transactions, disputes, and planning decisions that shape long-term outcomes.
Law Is the Instrument. Strategy Is the Practice.
Most legal issues facing business owners are not isolated legal questions. They arise within the business life cycle, from formation and growth to transition, exit, or dispute, and involve how a deal is structured, taxed, financed and enforced.
BLG approaches every engagement with that full context in mind. Each matter begins with structure, sequencing, and outcome analysis, informed by where the client is in the life cycle of the business or investment. Transactions, disputes, tax planning, and succession are not treated as separate disciplines, but as interconnected components of a single strategic framework.
The result is legal counsel aligned with business objectives, anticipating downstream consequences and positioning clients to protect and maximize long-term value.
Structure
Entity formation, ownership architecture, and tax-driven frameworks designed to align control, economics, and long-term objectives.
Strategy
Strategic planning across transactions, negotiations, and disputes to shape terms, manage risk, and drive outcomes.
Tax
Tax consequences are evaluated at the outset and drive structure, strategy, and execution.
Execution
Transactions and disputes documented and enforced with precision and discipline, consistent with the overall strategy.
Strategy matters. Structure matters. Timing matters. Tax impact matters. Business judgment matters. The BLG Approach

Dale B. Cazes
Dale B. Cazes
Dale B. Cazes brings over 25+ years of concentrated experience in business law, tax strategy, and complex commercial disputes. He holds an LL.M. in Taxation from Southern Methodist University School of Law, earned in 1999, and spent over 10+ years at Phillips Murrah, P.C. working across tax, transactional, and litigation matters before founding BLG to serve small to mid-sized companies and their stakeholders with principal-level attention.
His practice spans the full spectrum of business-legal matters: entity structure, deal architecture, tax controversy, employment frameworks, succession planning, estate disputes, regulatory matters, and litigation. Tax consequence and strategic positioning are integral elements of every analysis.
Dale advises business owners, financial advisors, CPAs, private equity operators, turnaround professionals, and fiduciaries who require counsel operating at the intersection of law, tax, and practical commercial judgment.
Core Disciplines
Counsel at Every Stage of Business
Small to mid-sized companies rarely experience legal issues in isolation. A contract problem turns into a tax question. An ownership dispute triggers a buyout negotiation. A growth-stage acquisition exposes structural weakness. A succession plan reveals estate-tax liability, probate issues, and governance problems that were invisible two years earlier.
BLG was founded on the premise that legal counsel for businesses must operate across these intersections, not within a single silo. Dale Cazes has spent over 25+ years advising at the key inflection points of business ownership: from initial structure through outsourced general counsel support, contracts, federal tax law, state and local issues, succession planning, transactions, restructuring, and exit.
This is not a practice built around document production. It is a practice built around understanding what a client is trying to accomplish, identifying the implications of each available path, and executing with precision.
For referral professionals, including financial advisors, CPAs, turnaround specialists, and fiduciaries, BLG functions as strategic legal counsel integrated into the advisory relationship. The firm is built to complement your work, protect your client, and collaborate on complex engagements where legal, tax, and financial considerations are inseparable.
For business owners, the value proposition is direct: one firm, one principal attorney, with deep experience across the full scope of business-legal matters affecting small to mid-sized companies and the tax sophistication to ensure that every structure, transaction, and resolution accounts for its consequences.
Regional Reach with Offices Across Four Markets
BLG maintains offices in Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Dallas, and Fort Lauderdale, with legal licensure currently centered in Oklahoma and Texas.
